Ian gave me a job in Bega back when the station was known as 2BE. He was the station manager,he was also a very patient man and a great manager.Hearing this aircheck has brought back many wonderful memories.It would be remiss of me not to also mention an old comrade who is sadly no longer with us.The great John Turner who had come to Bega from 7EX.John was also a great operator and a top bloke.Thank you Ian,it was a real pleasure to hear you on the air again.Thank you also for your many kindnesses all of those years ago.
They were very good years (1981-1992) at 2BE/2EC for me Tim and you will always stay in my memory bank and I say that with affection and the fact you contributed to me going grey at a reasonably young age !!! Interesting to hear this 20 year old air-check again. Apart from yours truly, other voices heard on the production side include Leon Byner (2EC imaging), Dr. John Darcy on the ‘Beyond 2000’ promo and Ken Sparkes (very briefly) within the ‘What Am I’ promo. This Part 2 of the original air-check supplied to Andrew here at The Radio Antenna was my last shift on 2EC in December 1992. Tim & Andrew, sincere thanks for boosting the old fella’s ego.

thanks for the background as well thought that was Ken Sparkes actually I have an aircheck from 4AM with Bruce Ferrier on it, think it was the intro to “On this day” it features Kev Golsby as well, heard him recently doing an ad for… wait for it Mc Donalds
